- 1 × 1-metre 10mm² battery cable set with 8mm lugs and a built-in 150A fuse kit
The nine 455W solar panels provide a combined rated solar array capacity of 4095W (4.095kW). The kit combines solar generation, lithium battery storage, charge regulation and inverter/charger functionality for suitable off-grid applications.
4095W High-Efficiency Bifacial Solar Panel Array
The kit is specified with nine 455W solar panels, giving a combined rated output of 4095W (4.095kW). N-type TOPCon cell technology is designed to provide efficient solar conversion, while the bifacial design allows the panels to capture light from both the front and rear surfaces.
Actual solar generation depends on sunlight levels, panel orientation and tilt, shading, weather, season and installation conditions. Bifacial performance also depends on how much reflected light reaches the rear of the modules.
The 4095W figure represents the panels' combined rated capacity under specified test conditions. It is not a guarantee of the electricity the system will generate each day.
5kVA RiiO-II Inverter/Charger
The 5kVA RiiO-II inverter/charger is the main power-conversion component of this off-grid solar system. It converts DC electricity stored in the battery into AC electricity for compatible appliances and provides battery-charging functionality as part of the configured system.
The RiiO-II range is designed for off-grid, energy-storage and backup-power applications. Depending on the exact model and installation, the range offers features such as surge capability and rapid transfer operation. Check the manufacturer's datasheet for the precise operating limits and compatibility requirements of the supplied unit.
Important: A 5kVA rating is an apparent-power rating and should not automatically be interpreted as 5kW of continuous usable power. Check continuous output, surge requirements and the combined demand of connected appliances before selecting the system.
48V Lithium Battery Storage
The kit is specified with one ES100 48V 105Ah LiFePO4 rack-mounted lithium battery. This battery stores energy generated by the solar panels for use when sunlight is limited or unavailable.
The battery's nominal energy is approximately 5.04kWh, calculated from 48V × 105Ah. Actual usable energy will depend on battery operating limits, system settings, conversion losses and the connected loads.
Battery capacity should be considered alongside daily electricity consumption and the length of time the system may need to operate without sufficient solar generation. High-demand appliances, including kettles, electric heaters, pumps and power tools, require particular attention when sizing an off-grid system.
MPPT Solar Charge Controller
The specified TES Series 80A, 150V MPPT solar charge controller manages the flow of energy from the solar panels to the battery. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) helps the controller operate the solar array at an appropriate voltage to harvest available power efficiently.
The array configuration must remain within the controller's maximum input-voltage, charging-current and charging-power limits. Panel string design, minimum temperatures and battery compatibility should be checked as part of the installation design.
Expected Solar Performance
Daily energy generation varies throughout the year. Summer production is generally higher than winter production in the UK because daylight hours and solar irradiation change seasonally.
Actual performance depends on:
- Local weather and available sunlight.
- Panel orientation, tilt and shading.
- Roof or ground-mount installation conditions.
- Battery charging requirements and system conversion losses.
- Electrical demand and the configuration of the system.
Any daily yield figure should be treated as an estimate under stated conditions, not a guaranteed output. For reliable year-round operation, size the battery and solar array around the property's expected consumption and winter performance.
Where Can This Off-Grid Solar Kit Be Used?
The 4095W 48V solar kit may be suitable for appropriately designed installations serving:
- Remote homes and properties without a mains connection.
- Workshops, garages and garden offices.
- Summer houses, stables and outbuildings.
- Static caravans and other suitable standalone buildings.
- Backup-power systems designed around compatible loads.
Whether it can meet your needs depends on daily energy use, peak appliance demand, battery capacity, expected seasonal generation and the installation design. It should not be assumed to power every appliance in a property without a load assessment.
Before purchasing a 4095W off-grid solar system, consider daily energy consumption, peak appliance loads, battery autonomy and expected winter generation. Contact Sunshine Solar if you need help checking the kit contents or determining whether this configuration meets your requirements.
